Everything changed for Martha’s family when they found Shade.
For years, Martha dealt with gossip, superstition, and painful school rejections. Still, she never stopped fighting for her children. When Boaz turned five, she heard for the first time about Shade School, a place known for supporting children with albinism.
After years of Boaz being turned away from schools, with teachers saying they didn’t know how to support him or were afraid of his differences, Shade became the first place where he was welcomed. Here, he found teachers who understood his needs, classmates who looked like him, and an environment where he felt accepted and loved.
“From the first day at Shade, Boaz was happy,” she recalls. “No one stared at him. No one called him names. He was just a child learning and feeling safe.”
Shade quickly became more than a school. It became a home where Boaz could grow with confidence and dignity. He is thriving academically and socially, and his younger sister Grace will join him next year as a member of the Baby Class.
“Shade has become a home for our family,” Martha says. “My children are loved, safe, and happy, and I thank God every day for this blessing.”
At Shade, we believe that every child deserves the chance to have a quality education.
