Home is where we are known, we are safe, and where we belong. For years, Shade has worked to create that sense of belonging for children with albinism and other vulnerabilities, led by Psalm 68:6: “God sets the lonely in families.”
This summer, we have the incredible opportunity to live out that calling in a new way by purchasing a house!
Help us raise $135,000 to begin the process of purchasing, preparing, and furnishing this home.
Purchasing an existing home allows us to begin to house children much sooner while also establishing a ministry presence in town. While we plan to build homes and dormitories on our land in the future, this house provides an immediate opportunity to meet current needs and serve children and families today.
The property is located in Shinyanga town, within easy reach of Shade School, medical facilities, and other essential services.
The home offers ample living space, a secure walled compound, and the flexibility to serve multiple needs while requiring minimal renovations.
Because the home is already built and in good condition, it could begin serving children shortly after purchase and preparation.
The children living in the home will be cared for by dedicated house parents who will live on-site. Beyond providing daily care and supervision, they will offer mentorship, spiritual guidance, and the stability of a family environment where children are known, loved, and encouraged to thrive.
This opportunity came through a long-standing relationship with the home’s owner, who has supported and believed in Shade’s mission for many years. When he made the decision to relocate, he approached us about purchasing the property because he wanted it to continue serving God’s purposes. As we prayed, sought counsel, and carefully evaluated the opportunity, we became convinced that this was a unique door God was opening for Shade’s future ministry.
This summer, we're purchasing our very first home for Shade students. Will you help us open the doors?
