Byron Simpson contributes a wealth of experience in biotechnology and laboratory management to Shade’s Board. Throughout his career, he has developed strong expertise in organizational leadership, quality control, and operational efficiency. Byron has managed complex projects and resources, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Byron was connected to Shade through a founding board member, the late Esme Farley, and was drawn to the school’s mission of providing education for children with albinism and other vulnerable children in Tanzania. He values the opportunity to use his skills to support Shade’s growth and help strengthen its operations for greater long-term impact.
Byron and his wife, Katrice, split their time between Northern Virginia and Central Pennsylvania. Their favorite pastime is going on long nature walks with their daughter, Melanie, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Coco.
