Carolyn is a satellite business development executive who brings valuable expertise in communication, relationship-building, and organizational strategy. She has a strong track record of leading cross-functional workstreams in operations, finance, marketing, and business integration, and she uses those skills to advance Shade’s mission as treasurer. Carolyn serves on several Boards and utilizes experience to support efficiencies that strengthen Shade’s strategic financial objectives and programs.
Carolyn has been part of Shade’s story since 2013, when she joined a mission trip to Tanzania with Potomac Falls Church and her heart was moved for the children with albinism she encountered. Shortly after, she became part of the small team of leaders who helped launch the vision and form the nonprofit which has since grown into Shade.
Carolyn and her husband, Gary, live in Great Falls, VA, where they raised two daughters who love Jesus and have a heart for serving. Now empty-nesters, they enjoy traveling with their dog, and cycling seeking new experiences and adventures on trails in the U.S and Europe.
