Dondie McNickle brings more than thirty years of leadership experience in the government IT industry to her role as the Board Chair. She has held executive positions in both Fortune 100 companies and entrepreneurial startups, where she has built and inspired high-performing teams to successfully manage business operations. Dondie is excited to bring that for-profit expertise to the nonprofit sector, helping Shade strengthen its operations and expand its impact.
Her journey with Shade began in 2014 when she met founder Claire Fedele and learned about the atrocities faced by children with albinism in Tanzania. Deeply moved by Claire’s vision to educate and advocate for these children, Dondie embraced a lasting commitment to support Shade’s mission. With a lifelong heart for missions, she is passionate about building authentic relationships with people from all backgrounds and helping connect others to Shade’s work.
Dondie and her husband, Mark, live in Leesburg, VA. They enjoy cooking, entertaining friends and family, exercising, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
