Kelly Clavell is a retired music teacher who continues to serve part-time as camp coordinator and librarian for The Maryland State Boychoir. After a 30-year career as a band director at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, Kelly continues to use her skills with The Maryland State Boychoir, planning and coordinating winter and summer camps.
Kelly was connected to Shade through founder Claire Fedele and a mission trip to Tanzania with Church of the Resurrection. As a former teacher, visiting Shade and witnessing its mission in action was awe-inspiring. Kelly is encouraged by the faithful teaching staff and dedicated vision to educating all students while valuing the unique gifts of each child. Kelly’s experience in education and ministry equips her to support Shade’s mission in meaningful ways.
Kelly and her husband, Chris, live in Kingsville, Maryland, with their frisky puppy, Freddie. Together, they love hiking in the woods nearby and traveling. Kelly also enjoys baking and gardening in her free time.
