Cassandra Salazar joined Shade in 2025, inspired by the organization’s deep commitment to children, its faith-driven mission, and its emphasis on authentic relationships with supporters. Throughout her career, Cassandra has devoted herself to working and volunteering with organizations dedicated to serving vulnerable children and their families, bringing a heart for compassionate and effective ministry.
Cassandra brings extensive experience in grant writing, major gift solicitation, and event planning to her role at Shade. Her professional background equips her to build meaningful connections with donors and partners while advancing the organization’s fundraising goals. She is passionate about ensuring that every child has the opportunity to lead a healthy, fulfilling life, and considers it a privilege to work with Shade in making this vision a reality for children in Tanzania.
Cassandra and her husband, Mario, live in San Antonio, Texas, with their three young daughters and two dogs. As a family, they love to hike, read, and spend quality time together outdoors.
