Our Story
Through an amazing series of events, God turned our attention to the precarious situation of children with albinism in Tanzania.
Our hearts broke for children who lacked the basic needs, safety, and love to grow up with a future. He connected us with caring believers in Shinyanga and opened wide the doors for us to extend his overwhelming love to people there.
Claire Grubbs Fedele fell in love with Tanzania during a stay there in 2012 and knew she would be back. At Iris Global’s Harvest School in Mozambique, she fell more deeply in love with Jesus and God used the Iris Leaders School in California to prepare her for ministry. Claire moved to Tanzania to pioneer Shade’s ministry in 2014 and was joined by husband Mike in 2016. Claire and Mike raised up a team of local leaders and transitioned back to the US in late 2018. Claire continues to serve as International Director from the Pacific Northwest.
